Company History

Founded by utility professionals, GoodCents is the leader in full-scale, demand-side services for utilities ranging from Demand Response, Advanced Metering Infrastructure, and Smart Grid to Load Research, Measurement & Verification and Energy Efficiency. GoodCents handles everything, from the initial research and development of programs, to their marketing, implementation, and ongoing measurement and verification.

GoodCents has a 32-year track record of helping some of the largest utilities in North America devise and implement new programs. GoodCents understands how regulatory bodies impact your strategies and day-to-day operations; how customer needs can often be at odds with federal energy regulations; and how important customer satisfaction is to your success.

Originally founded as A&C Enercom, GoodCents assumed its current name in 2001 and has since experienced unprecedented growth. Today, GoodCents employs nearly 500 marketing, customer service, and utility professionals who manage all of our demand-side management programs. With over 50 active utility relationships, GoodCents has become the leader in the delivery of complex integrated service offerings to achieve the ever-increasing program requirements.

Management Team

William A. Rodgers
Chief Executive Officer and President

William Rodgers has served as our President and CEO since December, 2007. In this role he is responsible for setting the overall strategy and direction of the business, including leading the senior management team in the development and delivery of our programs and services to our customers. Prior to joining GoodCents, Mr. Rodgers was President and CEO of EMCOR Facilities Services, a billion dollar subsidiary of EMCOR Group, leading the outsourcing relationships with major corporations of facility, energy and real estate activities. Prior to EMCOR, Mr. Rodgers was responsible for the North American operations for Johnson Controls Integrated Facility Management business. With over 25 years of experience in the service sector, Mr. Rodgers has led business efforts covering all aspects, including complex outsourcing relationships, route-based productivity driven environments, consultative partnering arrangements, and strong performance-driven assignments.


Charles Graf
Acting Vice President & Managing Director, Central Region

Charles Graf joined the Goodcents team in 2012 as Regional IT Director in the Indianapolis, Indiana field office.  During his tenure as Regional IT Director, he led a team which implemented scheduling, logistics and field enrollment programs. In addition, Charles improved customer and internal performance reporting within the GoodCents Connect® platform. As Acting VP and Managing Director, Charles is responsible for building a successful team that best serves our utility clients, develops opportunities for regional expansion and delivering regional bottom-line results.  Prior to GoodCents, Charles worked for over 15 years at Xerox Corporation as an Executive Consultant with a focus on labor efficiency programs and systems to promote efficiencies in the Market place. Sarah Huttu
Vice President of Marketing

Sarah Huttu joined GoodCents in 2011 bringing over 13 years of corporate, consumer and program marketing experience including five years in the energy and utility industry.  Sarah and her team are responsible for GoodCents' growth strategy and cultivating opportunities in new and existing markets through market research, customer insight, corporate positioning, branding, advertising, and developing and delivering customized marketing solutions for our clients.  In addition, she oversees the Field Marketing Managers and collaborates with the technology team to streamline procedures and create innovative marketing and enrollment solutions that will drive program efficiency and success.


Michael Klinger
Vice President & Managing Director, Western Region

Mike Klinger joined the Goodcents team in 2009.  As Project Manager in  Rancho Cucamonga, California, he managed the field office as ISO9001:2008 Quality Certified and compliant, demonstrating continued quality improvement.  In 2011 Mike was promoted to Managing Director, Western Region and expanded our western portfolio by adding additional programs and pilots.  As VP and Managing Director, Mike is responsible for building a successful team that best serves our utility clients, develops opportunities and regional expansion while delivering corporate bottom-line results for the region.  Before coming to GoodCents, Mike worked for over 30 years at the executive management level in the publishing industry, including VP Publisher of 10 magazines and launching his own magazine publishing company in 2006.


Keith Kudlac
Vice President of Technology

As Vice President of Technology, Keith Kudlac oversees the software development, infrastructure and support of our GoodCents Connect® platform.  In this role Keith is responsible for driving the innovation and infrastructure of GoodCents Connect® to continue to offer our clients the best data management, reporting and software capabilities in the market. Prior to joining GoodCents in 2008, Keith spent 15 years in director level roles building software and integrating with systems and companies around the world.  Keith has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Engineering from Purdue University.


Jeff Lawrence
Vice President of Field Administration

Jeff Lawrence joined the GoodCents team in 2008.  In his role as VP of Field Administration, Jeff focuses on the financial planning and analysis of the project offices in addition to fleet management and critical human resources support.  His team’s goal is maintaining a strong handle on the position of the business and continued development of our people and the management of our assets.  Prior to GoodCents, Jeff spent 30 in public accounting where he served in various financial and operational roles.


Jim Montano
Vice President of Corporate Finance

Jim Montano joined GoodCents as our Corporate Controller in April, 2008.  As Vice President of Corporate Accounting, Jim is responsible for all corporate finance and accounting functions, including oversight of our financial reporting systems and processes.  Prior to joining GoodCents, Jim was a group controller for CDC Software and worked extensively on financial planning and analysis as well as new acquisition integrations.  He holds an MBA in Accounting from St. Johns University and a BBA in Finance from Hofstra University.


Jason Oliver
Vice President of Solutions

As Vice President of Solutions, Jason Oliver has responsibility for the development of business solutions to meet the growth of the business.  In this capacity, he oversees the Program Engineering and Design for DSM Programs, the Research & Data Analytics team, and the Proposal response/development team.  Jason joined GoodCents in 2008 and was responsible for Information Technology, including the development of the GoodCents Connect® technology platform.  Jason has over 25 years of experience developing Field Service and Work Management solutions for the Energy and Utilities sectors.  He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin.


Bradley Paul
Vice President of Operational Support

As Vice President of Operational Support, Brad Paul is responsible for the continuity of services for the customer contact center and rebates processing center, as well as establishing systematic business performance reporting.   Brad has provided leadership in systems implementations, business process reengineering, data warehousing and analytics for GoodCents since March 2009.  Prior to joining GoodCents, Brad served in director roles for several national data warehousing practices as well as senior consultant in logistics for enterprise resource planning systems.


Rob Smith
Vice President & Managing Director, Eastern Region

With 20 years of results-driven management and leadership experience, Rob is responsible for driving successful implementation of energy efficiency and demand response programs for our clients.  Rob joined GoodCents in September 2007 to manage our Canadian programs, and based on his proven regional success he quickly assumed the role of Managing Director.  Prior to GoodCents, Rob spent a number of years managing several departments at St. Joseph’s hospital in London, Ontario, as part of the environmental management team, and has also successfully lead a region for Unifirst, as their District Services Manager.


Investors

GoodCents is principally owned by OCM/GFI Power Opportunities Fund II, a private equity fund managed by the GFI Energy division of Oaktree Capital Management, L.P. This group manages approximately $1.5 billion in capital, all composed of successful, profitable businesses that provide the equipment, software, services and systems for utilities and other energy companies.
