The local ABC affiliate in Indianapolis recently covered a home energy audit completed by GoodCents, as part of our free home energy assessment program with IPL, in response to customer questions about how to lower electric bills.

"Weather can be a huge factor in energy consumption, and therefore, their bills," said IPL spokesperson Claire Dalton. "Your house is working really hard to heat your home to 68 degrees because it's so cold outside." The same is true for when temperatures rise. Spring has sprung across the country and utility customers are now turning their air conditioner on. These AC units are working hard to cool the home, causing energy use to go up as well as the customers' electric bills. IPL contracts with GoodCents, and we complete more than 6,000 home energy assessments for their customers per year.
